Thomas released his hand, almost as an afterthought. He didn't take the cash though, instead giving a single-shouldered shrug. "First tip of many," he said simply, hands drumming shyly on the countertop.
And then, "Oh. Right, sorry to hear that. Don't think I'll be in any kind of shape to wait up," he confessed as he lifted the Black Widow in pointed explanation, then took the first tentative sip. Delicious, and it showed in the slight awe that seeps into his eyes and the way he licked his lips. "Hey, that's really good. Listen, I'm in town for about a month so..." and then he laughed, amazed at himself. "Sorry, I'm bad at this. I'll let you get back to it," he said, raising his newly made drink in amiable cheers.
